Looe (3½ miles) is the shark fishing centre of  Great Britain and boats may be chartered for this  and for mackerel and bottom fishing.  Coarse fishing is available at Siblyback Lake (8 miles)

There are hard courts at West Looe (4 miles).

Horse Riding:
There are excellent riding schools for children nearby. Older and more advanced riders may prefer to 
go to enjoy the wide open spaces of Bodmin Moor (7 miles) where there are several riding schools.
